Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Viridian HS1 AR Hand Stop integrate a laser sight?

The Viridian HS1 AR Hand Stop uniquely combines a hand stop with a green laser sight for enhanced aiming capabilities. This integration allows for ergonomic handling and quick target acquisition without the need for additional bulk on your firearm. The laser is activated via a pressure pad, making it intuitive to use with various grip styles. In tactical situations, this can be crucial for maintaining accuracy and speed.

What mounting system does the HS1 use?

The HS1 utilizes the M-Lok mounting system, which is widely used for its versatility and ease of installation. This system allows the HS1 to be mounted directly onto M-Lok compatible rails, providing a secure fit. For those with Picatinny rails, an M-Lok adapter can be used to ensure compatibility. This flexibility makes the HS1 a suitable choice for various firearm configurations.

What are the battery requirements for the Viridian HS1?

The Viridian HS1 requires a single 1/3n battery to operate the laser sight. It is crucial to use wrapped batteries to prevent short circuiting. The battery should be inserted with the positive side facing towards the gun. This setup ensures reliable power delivery and optimal performance of the laser.

How visible is the laser in different lighting conditions?

The green laser of the HS1 is highly visible, offering effective targeting up to 100 yards in daylight and up to 2 miles at night. This makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, providing clear visibility in various lighting conditions. However, users should be mindful of environmental factors like fog or bright sunlight, which can affect laser visibility.

Can the HS1 be used in extreme temperatures?

The HS1 is designed to operate within a temperature range of 14°F to 140°F. This broad range ensures functionality in most weather conditions, from cold environments to hot climates. It's important to consider that extreme conditions outside of this range could impact the performance of the laser, potentially affecting accuracy and reliability.

What are the legal considerations for using the HS1?

The HS1 may be subject to various ATF and state regulations, and users should consult with legal professionals to ensure compliance. Currently, the product is not shipped to California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and the District of Columbia due to local restrictions. It's crucial for users to check their local laws before purchasing or using the device.

How does the HS1 enhance tactical readiness?

By integrating a laser sight into a hand stop, the HS1 enhances tactical readiness by reducing the need for multiple attachments. This streamlined approach not only improves the ergonomics of the firearm but also allows for quicker transitions between targets. For those interested in optimizing their tactical setups, exploring our Tactical Lighting & Lasers collection can provide additional insights and options.

What are the benefits of using a green laser over a red laser?

Green lasers, like the one used in the HS1, are generally more visible to the human eye than red lasers, especially in daylight. This increased visibility can enhance accuracy and speed in target acquisition. However, green lasers may consume more battery power and can be more sensitive to extreme temperatures compared to red lasers.

How can the HS1's windage and elevation be adjusted?

The HS1 features adjustable windage and elevation, allowing users to fine-tune the laser for precise targeting. Adjustments can be made using the designated screws on the device, ensuring the laser aligns perfectly with the point of impact. This is particularly useful for shooters who need to adapt to different shooting distances or conditions.

What should be considered when integrating the HS1 into a tactical setup?

When integrating the HS1 into a tactical setup, consider the balance and weight distribution of your firearm. The HS1's ergonomic design aims to minimize bulk, but it's essential to ensure that it complements other accessories like optics or lights. For a comprehensive approach to tactical gear, our Optics, Sights & Lasers collection offers a range of products that can enhance your setup.
