Description

The Dual-Illuminated RMR uses fiber optics and tritium to illuminate the reticle. Fiber optics collect ambient light, automatically adjusting the reticle brightness. In situations with no (or low) light, the tritium illuminates the reticle. This version is popular with shooters who prefer a battery-free solution. The RM05 family has a green 9.0 MOA dot, which is simple to use and easy to find. The U.S. Marine Corps chose the 9.0 MOA dot for use in both the SDO and MDO optics programs.

NOTE: If selecting an RMR for mounting on the Glock® MOS, Springfield® OSP, Walther® PDP, or H&K® VP9 Optics Ready, a Trijicon RMR® mounting kit (AC32064) is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated Reflex Sight work without batteries?

The Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated Reflex Sight utilizes both fiber optics and tritium to illuminate its reticle, eliminating the need for batteries. Fiber optics gather ambient light to adjust the reticle brightness automatically, while tritium provides illumination in low-light conditions. This dual system ensures that the sight remains functional in diverse lighting environments, making it ideal for tactical and survival scenarios where battery reliability could be a concern.

What makes the 9.0 MOA amber dot on the Trijicon RMR suitable for tactical use?

The 9.0 MOA amber dot on the Trijicon RMR is designed for quick target acquisition and visibility, which is crucial in tactical situations. Its size and color make it easy to pick up against a variety of backgrounds, which is why it was chosen by the U.S. Marine Corps for their optics programs. The dot's visibility aids in fast, accurate shooting, especially in dynamic or high-pressure environments.

Can the Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated Reflex Sight be used on different firearms?

Yes, the Trijicon RMR is versatile and can be mounted on rifles, pistols, shotguns, and carbines. It is compatible with various mounting platforms, making it a flexible choice for those who own multiple types of firearms. However, for specific models like the Glock MOS, Springfield OSP, Walther PDP, or H&K VP9, a Trijicon RMR mounting kit is required to ensure proper fit and function.

What are the durability features of the Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated Reflex Sight?

The Trijicon RMR is renowned for its durability, featuring a patented housing shape that deflects impact force away from the lens. This design significantly enhances its ability to withstand harsh conditions and impacts. Additionally, it is waterproof up to 20 meters, ensuring reliability in wet environments. These features make it suitable for both military and civilian use in demanding scenarios.

How does the Trijicon RMR perform in low-light conditions?

In low-light conditions, the Trijicon RMR's tritium-phosphor lamp provides consistent illumination of the reticle. This ensures that the sight remains visible and effective when ambient light is insufficient. This capability is crucial for tactical operations and emergency preparedness, where lighting conditions can change unpredictably.

What maintenance is required for the Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated Reflex Sight?

The Trijicon RMR requires minimal maintenance due to its battery-free design. Regular cleaning of the lens to remove dust and debris is recommended to maintain clarity. Additionally, checking the mounting screws for tightness ensures the sight remains securely attached to the firearm. These simple steps help preserve its performance and longevity.

Is the Trijicon RMR suitable for competitive shooting?

The Trijicon RMR is well-suited for competitive shooting due to its quick target acquisition and robust design. The 9.0 MOA dot is easy to locate, which can improve shooting speed and accuracy in competitions. Its durability also ensures it can withstand the rigors of frequent use and transportation between events.

What are the advantages of using a dual-illuminated sight over a battery-powered one?

Dual-illuminated sights like the Trijicon RMR offer the advantage of reliability without the dependency on batteries. This can be particularly beneficial in extended field operations or survival situations where battery replacement is not feasible. However, the tradeoff is that reticle brightness is entirely dependent on available light, which may not be as adjustable as battery-powered models.

How does the Trijicon RMR integrate with other tactical gear?

The Trijicon RMR integrates seamlessly with a wide range of tactical gear, enhancing overall preparedness. Its compatibility with multiple firearm platforms and its rugged design make it an excellent addition to any tactical setup.
