Description

The Trijicon Miniature Rifle Optic (MRO®) is a reflex-style, sealed sight intended for use on rifles, carbines, and shotguns to provide fast target acquisition. It is designed to be used with both eyes open, providing the operator with maximum situational awareness. The large aperture and tapered light path maximizes the viewing area in such a small optic, allowing for fast target engagement – especially from non-standard shooting positions. It also features ambidextrous brightness controls, sub-flush adjusters, advanced lens coatings, and a fully sealed, waterproof, hard anodized forged 7075-T6 housing, making the MRO the ultimate mini reflex sight.

The MRO HD is optimized for use with a magnifier, with a re-engineered objective lens to produce a refined 2.0 MOA center dot surrounded by a 68 MOA segmented circle reticle. The ambidextrous reticle and brightness control allows the user to choose between a full reticle or center dot only.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Trijicon MRO HD enhance target acquisition?

The Trijicon MRO HD is designed to enhance target acquisition through its large aperture and tapered light path. This design maximizes the viewing area, allowing for quick target engagement even from non-standard shooting positions. The optic's reflex-style and sealed sight construction ensure that you can maintain situational awareness while focusing on your target. This is particularly beneficial in dynamic environments where rapid response is crucial.

What makes the MRO HD suitable for use with both eyes open?

The MRO HD is specifically designed for use with both eyes open, which enhances situational awareness. This is achieved through its reflex-style sight and large aperture, which provide a wide field of view. Keeping both eyes open allows for better peripheral vision and quicker target transitions, a critical advantage in tactical scenarios.

How does the ambidextrous brightness control benefit users?

The ambidextrous brightness control on the MRO HD allows users to easily adjust settings without removing their hand from the fire control. This feature is particularly beneficial for left-handed shooters or when operating in high-stress environments where maintaining control of the weapon is essential. The dial offers multiple brightness settings, including night vision-compatible options, ensuring visibility in various lighting conditions.

What are the key features of the MRO HD's reticle?

The MRO HD features a refined 2.0 MOA center dot surrounded by a 68 MOA segmented circle reticle. This design allows users to choose between using the center dot only or the full reticle, depending on the situation. The segmented circle aids in rapid target acquisition and tracking, making it versatile for both close-quarters and mid-range engagements.

How does the MRO HD perform in harsh environments?

The MRO HD is built to withstand harsh environments thanks to its forged 7075-T6 aluminum housing and fully sealed construction. It is waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen, protecting it against moisture and fogging. This durability ensures reliable performance in extreme weather conditions, making it a dependable choice for outdoor and tactical applications.

What is the battery life of the MRO HD and how does it vary with usage?

The MRO HD offers a battery life of approximately 2.5 years for dot-only use and 75 days for the complex reticle at setting 5 of 8. Battery life can vary based on environmental conditions and brightness settings. Using lower brightness settings can extend battery life, which is crucial for long-term deployments or when access to replacement batteries is limited.

What mounting options are available for the MRO HD?

The Trijicon MRO HD comes with a low mount, making it compatible with a variety of firearms including rifles, carbines, and shotguns. Its industry-standard mounting footprint allows for easy integration with existing setups. How does the MRO HD's lens coating improve clarity?

The MRO HD's advanced lens coatings provide superior clarity and light-gathering capabilities. These multi-coated lenses reduce glare and enhance image brightness, ensuring a crisp and clear sight picture. This feature is particularly beneficial in low-light conditions, where visibility is often compromised.

What are the advantages of the MRO HD's tethered battery cap?

The tethered battery cap of the MRO HD ensures that the cap remains attached during battery changes. This design prevents loss of the cap, which can be a common issue in the field. The tethered cap also reduces the risk of dirt or debris entering the battery compartment, maintaining the reliability of the optic.

How does the MRO HD integrate into a comprehensive tactical setup?

The MRO HD integrates seamlessly into a comprehensive tactical setup by providing a versatile and reliable aiming solution. Its compatibility with magnifiers and ability to maintain zero under harsh conditions make it ideal for both close-quarters and extended engagements.
