Description

Adjustable 68 MOA Reticle with a 2.0 MOA Dot on a Full Co-Witness Mount, 3x Magnifier with Quick Release Flip-to-Side Mount

The Trijicon Miniature Rifle Optic (MRO®) is a reflex-style, sealed sight intended for use on rifles, carbines, and shotguns to provide fast target acquisition. It is designed to be used with both eyes open, providing the operator with maximum situational awareness. The large aperture and tapered light path maximizes the viewing area in such a small optic, allowing for fast target engagement – especially from non-standard shooting positions. It also features ambidextrous brightness controls, sub-flush adjusters, advanced lens coatings, and a fully sealed, waterproof, hard anodized forged 7075-T6 housing, making the MRO the ultimate mini reflex sight.

The MRO HD is optimized for use with a magnifier, with a re-engineered objective lens to produce a refined 2.0 MOA center dot surrounded by a 68 MOA segmented circle reticle. The ambidextrous reticle and brightness control allows the user to choose between a full reticle or center dot only.

The Trijicon Miniature Rifle Optic (MRO®) HD Magnifier is a 3 power reflex optic magnifier specifically designed to magnify the target and target seen through the MRO HD red dot optic. By magnifying the target the shooter is able to use the crisp dot in the MRO HD to quickly and accurately engage targets at extended distances. The MRO HD Magnifier is short and compact which saves weight and rail space. The design features easy-to-set flush, toolless adjusters that make centering the reticle in the field of view easy. The adjustable diopter allows the user to tune the optical performance to their eyes.

The 3x magnifier also includes a multi position, military-grade flip-to-side quick release levered mount which makes mounting and unmounting the optic from the host platform quick and easy. This mount is also designed to flip into place over the top of back up iron sights commonly used on modern sporting rifles. Each magnifier includes a riser plate and additional fasteners to allow the optic to align with either 1/3rd or Full Co-Witness MRO HD mounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Trijicon MRO HD suitable for tactical applications?

The Trijicon MRO HD is designed for tactical applications with its robust features. Its reflex-style sight allows for rapid target acquisition, crucial in high-pressure situations. The optic's large aperture and tapered light path enhance situational awareness by offering a wide field of view. Additionally, the ambidextrous brightness controls and fully sealed, waterproof construction ensure the sight is versatile and reliable in various conditions. For more insights on choosing the right optic for tactical use, visit our Expert Guide to Red Dot Sights for Tactical Applications.

How does the 3x magnifier enhance the functionality of the MRO HD?

The 3x magnifier significantly enhances the MRO HD's functionality by extending its effective range. It allows shooters to engage targets at greater distances with increased accuracy. The magnifier's quick-release flip-to-side mount provides flexibility, enabling users to switch between magnified and non-magnified views rapidly. This adaptability is essential for dynamic environments where targets may appear at varying distances. The compact design also ensures that it doesn't add unnecessary weight or bulk to your setup.

Can the MRO HD handle extreme weather conditions?

Yes, the MRO HD is built to withstand extreme weather conditions. Its housing is made from forged 7075-T6 aluminum, providing exceptional strength and durability. The optic is fully sealed and waterproof up to a depth of 33 feet, ensuring it remains functional in heavy rain or submerged environments. The nitrogen-filled construction prevents fogging, making it reliable in both hot and cold climates. However, users should still perform regular maintenance to ensure longevity in harsh conditions.

How does the reticle of the MRO HD improve target acquisition?

The MRO HD features a 68 MOA segmented circle reticle with a 2.0 MOA center dot, optimizing target acquisition. This design allows for quick centering on targets, especially when transitioning between different distances. The reticle's size and clarity are enhanced by advanced lens coatings, providing a crisp and bright image. Users can choose between a full reticle or center dot only, depending on their preference and the shooting scenario. This flexibility is particularly beneficial in fast-paced tactical situations.

What are the mounting options available for the MRO HD and magnifier?

The MRO HD and its magnifier come with versatile mounting options. The MRO HD includes a full co-witness mount, ensuring compatibility with most modern sporting rifles. The magnifier features a quick-release flip-to-side mount, which can be adjusted to align with either 1/3rd or full co-witness setups. This adaptability allows for seamless integration with existing sights and backup iron sights, providing flexibility in customizing your firearm setup.

How does the MRO HD's battery life support long-term use?

The MRO HD is designed for long-term use with an impressive battery life. It offers up to 2.5 years of continuous use at the dot-only day setting, which is ideal for users who require reliable performance over extended periods. However, the complex reticle setting reduces battery life to approximately 75 days. Users should consider their operational needs and adjust brightness settings accordingly to maximize battery efficiency. Regular battery checks and replacements are recommended to ensure uninterrupted performance.

What are the benefits of using the MRO HD with both eyes open?

Using the MRO HD with both eyes open offers significant tactical advantages. This method enhances situational awareness by allowing the shooter to maintain a full field of view, which is crucial in dynamic environments. It reduces eye strain and improves target tracking, making it easier to engage moving targets. The design of the MRO HD supports this shooting style by minimizing the 'tube effect,' ensuring a clear and unobstructed view of the target area.

How does the ambidextrous brightness control benefit users?

The ambidextrous brightness control on the MRO HD is a significant user-friendly feature. It allows both left- and right-handed operators to adjust settings without removing their hands from the fire control, maintaining readiness and safety. This feature is particularly beneficial in high-stress situations where quick adjustments are necessary. The control offers 16 brightness settings, including four night vision-compatible options, providing versatility across different lighting conditions.

What maintenance is required to keep the MRO HD in optimal condition?

Regular maintenance is essential to keep the MRO HD in optimal condition. Users should periodically clean the lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth to maintain clarity. It's also important to check the battery compartment for any signs of corrosion and replace the battery as needed. Additionally, inspecting the mounting hardware for tightness ensures the sight remains securely attached and maintains zero. For comprehensive maintenance tips, explore our Optical Accessories collection.

How does the MRO HD integrate with backup iron sights?

The MRO HD is designed to integrate seamlessly with backup iron sights. Its full co-witness mount aligns perfectly with standard iron sights, allowing users to switch between optics and irons without adjusting their shooting stance. The flip-to-side magnifier mount further enhances this integration by positioning the magnifier out of the way when not in use. This setup ensures that users have a reliable backup in case of optic failure, maintaining operational readiness in all scenarios.
