Description

The Trijicon Miniature Rifle Optic (MRO®) is a reflex-style, sealed sight intended for use on rifles, carbines, and shotguns to provide fast target acquisition. It is designed to be used with both eyes open, providing the operator with maximum situational awareness. The large aperture and tapered light path maximizes the viewing area in such a small optic, allowing for fast target engagement – especially from non-standard shooting positions. It also features ambidextrous brightness controls, sub-flush adjusters, advanced lens coatings, and a fully sealed, waterproof, hard anodized forged 7075-T6 housing, making the MRO the ultimate mini reflex sight.

The MRO HD is optimized for use with a magnifier, with a re-engineered objective lens to produce a refined 2.0 MOA center dot surrounded by a 68 MOA segmented circle reticle. The ambidextrous reticle and brightness control allows the user to choose between a full reticle or center dot only.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Trijicon MRO HD improve target acquisition?

The Trijicon MRO HD enhances target acquisition through its large aperture and tapered light path, which maximizes the viewing area. This design minimizes the 'tube effect' often experienced with smaller optics, allowing for quicker engagement of targets from various shooting positions. The optic's design supports both eyes open shooting, which is crucial for maintaining situational awareness in dynamic environments. For more insights on selecting the right optic for your tactical needs, explore our Optics, Sights & Lasers collection.

What makes the Trijicon MRO HD suitable for harsh environments?

The Trijicon MRO HD is built to withstand harsh environments due to its forged 7075-T6 aluminum housing and fully sealed construction. This robust design is waterproof and nitrogen-purged to prevent fogging, ensuring clarity in extreme weather conditions. The optic's durability is further enhanced by its hard anodized finish, which resists scratches and corrosion. These features make it a reliable choice for both tactical and hunting applications.

How does the ambidextrous brightness control benefit users?

The ambidextrous brightness control on the Trijicon MRO HD allows users to adjust settings without removing their hand from the fire control. This feature is particularly beneficial in high-pressure situations where quick adjustments are necessary. The control is equally accessible for both left- and right-handed users, enhancing usability across different shooting styles. With 16 brightness settings, including night vision-compatible options, the MRO HD is versatile for various lighting conditions.

What are the battery life expectations for the MRO HD?

The Trijicon MRO HD offers a battery life of up to 2.5 years when used with the dot-only reticle at a moderate brightness setting. However, using the more complex reticle will reduce this to approximately 75 days of continuous use. Battery life can vary based on environmental conditions and specific usage patterns, so it's advisable to carry spare batteries for extended operations.

How does the MRO HD's reticle design enhance shooting accuracy?

The MRO HD's reticle features a 2.0 MOA center dot surrounded by a 68 MOA segmented circle, which aids in rapid target acquisition and precise aiming. This design allows shooters to quickly center their target within the circle while using the dot for pinpoint accuracy. The option to switch between the full reticle and dot-only mode provides flexibility for different shooting scenarios, enhancing overall accuracy.

Is the Trijicon MRO HD compatible with magnifiers?

Yes, the Trijicon MRO HD is optimized for use with magnifiers, thanks to its re-engineered objective lens. This compatibility allows for enhanced target identification and engagement at extended ranges. When paired with a quality magnifier, the MRO HD can effectively transition from close-quarters to medium-range engagements. For more on integrating optics and magnifiers, visit our Magnifiers collection.

What are the mounting options for the Trijicon MRO HD?

The Trijicon MRO HD comes with a full cowitness mount, which aligns the optic with standard iron sights. This mount ensures that the iron sights are visible through the optic in case of battery failure or other issues. Additionally, the MRO HD's mounting versatility allows it to be used with a variety of aftermarket mounts, providing options for different firearm platforms.

How does the MRO HD maintain zero under harsh conditions?

The Trijicon MRO HD maintains zero through its capless design with sub-flush adjusters, which prevent accidental adjustments. This design minimizes snag hazards and ensures that the optic remains securely zeroed even under rough handling. The robust construction and precise engineering of the MRO HD contribute to its reliability in maintaining zero across various conditions.

What are the advantages of the MRO HD's lens coatings?

The advanced lens coatings on the Trijicon MRO HD provide superior clarity and light-gathering capabilities. These coatings reduce glare and enhance contrast, allowing for a crisp and clear sight picture in various lighting conditions. The multi-coated lenses also contribute to the optic's durability by protecting against scratches and abrasions.

How does the MRO HD fit into a comprehensive tactical setup?

The Trijicon MRO HD is an essential component of a comprehensive tactical setup due to its versatility and durability. Its compatibility with magnifiers and robust construction make it suitable for a range of tactical scenarios, from urban environments to open fields.
