Description

Dual Illuminated with RTR™ 223 Reticle, w/ Mount with Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology

The Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S Scope is a fixed magnification riflescope with an illuminated reticle pattern for use in any lighting conditions. Dual illumination provides two sources of battery-free illumination – fiber optics and tritium. The fiber optics use ambient light to automatically adjust the brightness level and contrast of the reticle to available light conditions. The tritium-phosphor lamp glows in low-light conditions. The ACOG body is designed to be extremely rugged and reliable. Wrapped in a smaller package, at 5.1 ounces (without mount), this ACOG is perfect for fast-moving tactical teams operating in close quarters or for speed-oriented competition venues. The forged 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy housing provides for a nearly indestructible sighting system. No other magnified optic has been used more in combat than the Trijicon ACOG. No tools are needed for windage and elevation adjustments because the ACOG features external adjusters. All adjuster caps are provided with a lanyard assembly to minimize the loss of caps. This model provides weapons like the M16/M4 with excellent fire control capability. Targets are easier and quicker to acquire through the 1.5x16 models because of the larger field of view (7.4 degrees) and eye-friendly design.

The Trijicon Compact ACOG Mount w/ Q-LOC™ Technology features a Mil-Spec drop test rated 6061-T6 aluminum design, with an easy to use one handed tool less mounting system. The spring-loaded design allows for constant retention and maintaining of zero even if the knobs are not tightened.

The mount boasts a low weight and low profile design with superior return to zero performance and is compatible with any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail.

Trijicon Compact ACOG® TAC-R™ Reticles

Trijicon® applies the same engineering expertise to our reticles as every part of our optic designs. Our TAC-R™ series of reticles (Trijicon Advanced Combat Reticles) include numerous features such as BDC stadia lines, target-ranging markings, wind holds, and illumination (which aids both-eyes-open shooting).

New to the TAC-R series is the RTR™ (Rapid Target Reticle) for the 1.5x16S and 2x20 ACOG® models. The RTR™ .223 reticle includes a bright fiber optic/tritium 2.0 MOA illuminated center dot, BDC holds to 700 yards for .223 REM 55gr. FMJ ammunition and a 16 in. barrel length, 7.5 MPH crosswind holds at 250 yards, and 19 in. width stadia lines for ranging.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the dual illumination system work in the Trijicon 1.5x16S Compact ACOG Scope?

The dual illumination system in the Trijicon 1.5x16S Compact ACOG Scope utilizes both fiber optics and tritium to provide a battery-free illuminated reticle. During daylight, the fiber optics automatically adjust the brightness and contrast of the reticle based on ambient light conditions. In low-light scenarios, the tritium-phosphor lamp ensures the reticle remains visible. This dual system allows for seamless transition between different lighting environments without manual adjustments, making it ideal for tactical situations where quick adaptability is crucial.

What makes the Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S suitable for close-quarters combat?

The Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S is particularly suited for close-quarters combat due to its compact design and wide field of view. Weighing just 5.1 ounces without the mount, it is lightweight and easy to maneuver. The 7.4-degree field of view allows for rapid target acquisition, which is essential in fast-paced environments. Additionally, the Bindon Aiming Concept™ enables both-eyes-open shooting, enhancing situational awareness and target tracking in dynamic settings.

How does the Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology enhance the mounting system?

Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology provides a robust and user-friendly mounting solution for the ACOG 1.5x16S. The system features a tool-less, one-handed operation that allows for quick attachment and detachment from any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail. Its spring-loaded design ensures constant retention and maintains zero even if the knobs are not fully tightened. This enhances reliability and performance in tactical operations where equipment needs to be adjusted swiftly.

What are the benefits of the Rapid Target Reticle (RTR™) on the ACOG 1.5x16S?

The Rapid Target Reticle (RTR™) on the ACOG 1.5x16S is designed to enhance target acquisition and accuracy. It features a bright fiber optic/tritium 2.0 MOA illuminated center dot and bullet drop compensating (BDC) holds to 700 yards for .223 REM 55gr. FMJ ammunition. The reticle also includes wind holds for 7.5 MPH crosswinds at 250 yards, making it versatile for various shooting conditions. This reticle design supports both precision and speed, crucial for tactical and competitive shooting scenarios.

How does the ACOG 1.5x16S perform in extreme weather conditions?

The ACOG 1.5x16S is engineered to perform reliably in extreme weather conditions. Its housing is made from forged 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, providing exceptional durability and shock resistance. The optic is waterproof and dry nitrogen-filled to prevent fogging, ensuring clear visibility in both cold and hot environments. These features make it a dependable choice for operations in diverse climates.

What scenarios are best suited for the Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S?

What maintenance is required for the Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S?

The Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S requires minimal maintenance due to its robust design. Regularly clean the lenses with a soft cloth to maintain clarity and check the mount for secure attachment. The tritium illumination does not require any maintenance, but it will gradually dim over years and may need replacement after 10-15 years, depending on use. Ensuring the optic is free from dirt and debris will prolong its lifespan and performance.

Can the ACOG 1.5x16S be used with other accessories?

The ACOG 1.5x16S is compatible with a variety of accessories, enhancing its versatility. It can be mounted on any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail, allowing integration with other tactical gear such as backup iron sights, lasers, and lights. When selecting accessories, ensure they are compatible with the optic's dimensions and mounting system to avoid interference and maintain optimal performance. For more on selecting the right tactical gear, explore our Optics, Sights & Lasers collection.

How does the ACOG 1.5x16S support both-eyes-open shooting?

The ACOG 1.5x16S supports both-eyes-open shooting through the Bindon Aiming Concept™ (BAC). This concept allows the shooter to maintain peripheral vision and situational awareness while aiming. The illuminated reticle remains in focus with one eye, while the other eye provides a full field of view. This technique is particularly beneficial in dynamic and high-stress environments, where rapid target acquisition and awareness of surroundings are essential.
