Description

Dual Illuminated Red Ring & 2 MOA Center Dot Reticle w/ Mount with Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology

The Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S Scope is a fixed magnification riflescope with an illuminated reticle pattern for use in any lighting conditions. Dual illumination provides two sources of battery-free illumination – fiber optics and tritium. The fiber optics use ambient light to automatically adjust the brightness level and contrast of the reticle to available light conditions. The tritium-phosphor lamp glows in low-light conditions. The ACOG body is designed to be extremely rugged and reliable. Wrapped in a smaller package, at 5.1 ounces (without mount), this ACOG is perfect for fast-moving tactical teams operating in close quarters or for speed-oriented competition venues. The forged 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy housing provides for a nearly indestructible sighting system. No other magnified optic has been used more in combat than the Trijicon ACOG. No tools are needed for windage and elevation adjustments because the ACOG features external adjusters. All adjuster caps are provided with a lanyard assembly to minimize the loss of caps. This model provides weapons like the M16/M4 with excellent fire control capability. Targets are easier and quicker to acquire through the 1.5x16 models because of the larger field of view (7.4 degrees) and eye-friendly design.

The Trijicon Compact ACOG Mount w/ Q-LOC™ Technology features a Mil-Spec drop test rated 6061-T6 aluminum design, with an easy to use one handed tool less mounting system. The spring-loaded design allows for constant retention and maintaining of zero even if the knobs are not tightened.

The mount boasts a low weight and low profile design with superior return to zero performance and is compatible with any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Trijicon 1.5x16S Compact ACOG® Scope perform in low-light conditions?

The Trijicon 1.5x16S Compact ACOG® Scope is designed to excel in low-light conditions thanks to its dual illumination system. It utilizes fiber optics to automatically adjust the reticle brightness based on ambient light, while a tritium-phosphor lamp provides illumination in complete darkness. This feature ensures that the reticle remains visible regardless of lighting conditions, making it ideal for dawn, dusk, or indoor environments where lighting can be unpredictable.

What makes the Trijicon ACOG® Scope suitable for tactical use?

The Trijicon ACOG® Scope is renowned for its ruggedness and reliability, making it a preferred choice for tactical applications. Its housing is crafted from forged 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, providing exceptional durability. The fixed-power design minimizes moving parts, enhancing its ability to withstand harsh conditions and recoil. Additionally, the Bindon Aiming Concept™ allows for 'both eyes open' shooting, improving situational awareness in dynamic environments.

How does the Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology enhance the scope's usability?

The Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology provides a user-friendly, tool-less mounting system for the ACOG® Scope. This spring-loaded design ensures constant retention and maintains zero, even if the knobs are not fully tightened. The quick-detach capability allows for rapid attachment and detachment from any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail, making it highly adaptable for various firearms and tactical scenarios.

What are the advantages of the Trijicon ACOG® Scope's fixed magnification?

The fixed 1.5x magnification of the Trijicon ACOG® Scope offers several advantages, particularly in close-quarters combat and fast-paced environments. It provides a wider field of view, allowing for quicker target acquisition and improved tracking of moving targets. This makes it an excellent choice for urban settings or speed-oriented competitions where rapid engagement is crucial. The simplicity of a fixed power also means fewer moving parts, contributing to the scope's durability and reliability.

How does the Trijicon ACOG® Scope contribute to situational awareness?

The Trijicon ACOG® Scope enhances situational awareness through its Bindon Aiming Concept™ (BAC). This concept allows shooters to keep both eyes open while aiming, providing a more comprehensive view of the surroundings. This is particularly advantageous in tactical situations where awareness of the environment is as critical as the target itself. By maintaining peripheral vision, users can react more effectively to dynamic threats.

What maintenance does the Trijicon ACOG® Scope require to ensure longevity?

Maintaining the Trijicon ACOG® Scope involves regular cleaning of the lenses and checking the mount for secure attachment. The lenses should be kept free of dust and debris using a soft cloth or lens pen, such as the included LENSPEN (TA56). It's also important to periodically inspect the mount and ensure that the Q-LOC™ system is functioning correctly. While the scope is built to withstand harsh conditions, routine maintenance will help preserve its performance and extend its service life.

How does the Trijicon ACOG® Scope handle extreme weather conditions?

The Trijicon ACOG® Scope is engineered to perform in extreme weather conditions, thanks to its robust construction and design features. It is waterproof and dry nitrogen-filled to prevent fogging, ensuring clear visibility in humid or rainy conditions. The scope is also tested to withstand extreme temperatures, making it reliable in both hot and cold environments. This resilience is crucial for operators who may face unpredictable weather during missions.

What are the primary uses of the Trijicon ACOG® Scope in emergency preparedness?

The Trijicon ACOG® Scope is a valuable asset in emergency preparedness, particularly for security and defense roles. Its durability and reliability make it ideal for scenarios where equipment failure is not an option, such as in self-defense or protecting a homestead. The scope's ability to function without batteries due to its dual illumination system ensures it remains operational even during power outages. How does the Trijicon ACOG® Scope compare to other tactical optics?

Compared to other tactical optics, the Trijicon ACOG® Scope stands out for its combat-proven design and battery-free operation. While many optics rely on batteries, the ACOG uses fiber optics and tritium for illumination, reducing the risk of failure in critical moments. Its fixed magnification and robust construction make it a reliable choice for both military and civilian applications. What are the tradeoffs of using a fixed magnification optic like the Trijicon ACOG®?

Using a fixed magnification optic like the Trijicon ACOG® involves certain tradeoffs, particularly in terms of flexibility. While the fixed 1.5x magnification is excellent for close-quarters and quick target acquisition, it may not be as versatile as variable magnification scopes for long-range engagements. Users must consider their primary application needs; for instance, if most engagements are expected to be within 100 yards, the ACOG is highly effective. However, for longer distances, a variable scope might be more suitable.
