Description

Dual Illuminated Green Ring & 2 MOA Center Dot Reticle w/ Mount with Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology

The Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S Scope is a fixed magnification riflescope with an illuminated reticle pattern for use in any lighting conditions. Dual illumination provides two sources of battery-free illumination – fiber optics and tritium. The fiber optics use ambient light to automatically adjust the brightness level and contrast of the reticle to available light conditions. The tritium-phosphor lamp glows in low-light conditions. The ACOG body is designed to be extremely rugged and reliable. Wrapped in a smaller package, at 5.1 ounces (without mount), this ACOG is perfect for fast-moving tactical teams operating in close quarters or for speed-oriented competition venues. The forged 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy housing provides for a nearly indestructible sighting system. No other magnified optic has been used more in combat than the Trijicon ACOG. No tools are needed for windage and elevation adjustments because the ACOG features external adjusters. All adjuster caps are provided with a lanyard assembly to minimize the loss of caps. This model provides weapons like the M16/M4 with excellent fire control capability. Targets are easier and quicker to acquire through the 1.5x16 models because of the larger field of view (7.4 degrees) and eye-friendly design.

The Trijicon Compact ACOG Mount w/ Q-LOC™ Technology features a Mil-Spec drop test rated 6061-T6 aluminum design, with an easy to use one handed tool less mounting system. The spring-loaded design allows for constant retention and maintaining of zero even if the knobs are not tightened.

The mount boasts a low weight and low profile design with superior return to zero performance and is compatible with any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Trijicon 1.5x16S Compact ACOG® Scope ideal for close-quarters combat?

The Trijicon 1.5x16S Compact ACOG® Scope is specifically designed for close-quarters combat due to its fixed 1.5x magnification and wide field of view. This allows for rapid target acquisition and situational awareness, which are critical in high-stress environments. The scope's compact size and lightweight build make it easy to maneuver in tight spaces, while the dual-illuminated reticle ensures visibility in varying light conditions without the need for batteries. These features combine to provide a robust solution for tactical teams operating in urban settings.

How does the dual illumination system in the Trijicon ACOG work?

The dual illumination system in the Trijicon ACOG uses both fiber optics and tritium to provide a battery-free lighting solution. Fiber optics collect ambient light to automatically adjust the reticle's brightness and contrast according to the lighting conditions. Tritium, a radioactive isotope, provides illumination in low-light or no-light situations, ensuring the reticle remains visible at all times. This system is particularly advantageous in environments where battery replacement is impractical or impossible.

What are the benefits of the Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology Mount included with the ACOG scope?

The Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology Mount offers a secure and tool-less mounting system that enhances the versatility of the ACOG scope. Its spring-loaded design ensures constant retention and maintains zero even if the knobs are not fully tightened. This mount is compatible with any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail, providing flexibility across various firearm platforms. The low-profile design minimizes added weight and bulk, making it ideal for tactical applications where speed and agility are crucial.

How does the Trijicon ACOG perform in extreme weather conditions?

The Trijicon ACOG is engineered to perform exceptionally well in extreme weather conditions. Its housing is filled with dry nitrogen to prevent fogging, and it is waterproof beyond military standards, ensuring reliability in wet environments. The scope is also shock-resistant, capable of withstanding the recoil of powerful firearms, and can operate in both extreme cold and heat. These features make it a dependable choice for operations in diverse and challenging climates.

What is the Bindon Aiming Concept™ (BAC) and how does it enhance shooting with the ACOG?

The Bindon Aiming Concept™ (BAC) is a feature that allows for 'both eyes open' shooting, enhancing situational awareness and target acquisition speed. This concept is particularly beneficial in dynamic environments where threats can appear suddenly and from multiple directions. By keeping both eyes open, the shooter can maintain a full field of view while still focusing on the reticle, allowing for quicker response times and improved accuracy in fast-paced situations.

How does the Trijicon ACOG's construction contribute to its durability?

The Trijicon ACOG is constructed from forged 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, which provides exceptional durability and strength. This material is known for its high resistance to impact and corrosion, making the ACOG nearly indestructible. The fixed-power design reduces the number of moving parts, further enhancing its reliability in harsh conditions. Such robust construction ensures the ACOG can withstand the rigors of combat and tactical use over extended periods.

What are the advantages of the Trijicon ACOG's green dot reticle?

The green dot reticle in the Trijicon ACOG offers several advantages, particularly in terms of visibility and contrast. Green is a color that the human eye can detect more easily than red or blue, especially in low-light conditions. This makes the green dot reticle highly visible against a variety of backgrounds, aiding in faster target acquisition. Additionally, the green illumination is less likely to cause eye strain during prolonged use, which is beneficial for extended operations.

How does the Trijicon ACOG maintain zero during repeated mounting and dismounting?

The Trijicon ACOG maintains zero through its precision-engineered Q-LOC™ Technology Mount, which is designed for consistent performance. The mount's spring-loaded system ensures that the optic returns to the same position every time it is mounted, which is crucial for maintaining accuracy. This feature is particularly useful for operators who need to frequently switch optics or transport their firearms, as it eliminates the need for constant recalibration.

Is the Trijicon ACOG suitable for use on different firearm platforms?

Yes, the Trijicon ACOG is suitable for use on various firearm platforms, thanks to its versatile mounting system. It is compatible with any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail, which are commonly found on a wide range of rifles and carbines. This compatibility makes the ACOG a flexible choice for users who may need to transition between different weapon systems. What are the key considerations when integrating the Trijicon ACOG into a tactical setup?

When integrating the Trijicon ACOG into a tactical setup, key considerations include ensuring compatibility with your firearm's rail system and evaluating the scope's role in your overall strategy. The ACOG's compact size and weight make it ideal for rapid deployment scenarios, but it is important to balance this with other gear to avoid overloading. Additionally, consider the lighting conditions you will encounter, as the ACOG's dual illumination can be a significant advantage in variable environments.
