Real Avid - Ratchet Rest Adjustable Shooting Bag - Medium

Accu-Click technology provides micro-adjustable elevation control, allowing for precise height adjustments. This feature is particularly beneficial for rifle enthusiasts who require consistent accuracy over long distances. By enabling click-by-click adjustments, the shooter can fine-tune their aim without disturbing the rifle's position, which is crucial for maintaining a steady shot. This technology reduces the need for multiple shooting bags, offering a streamlined setup for both zeroing and long-range applications.

The waxed canvas construction of the Real Avid Ratchet Rest offers durability and weather resistance. This material is known for its ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions, making it ideal for outdoor shooting activities. The heavy-duty fabric resists tears and abrasions, ensuring that the shooting bag maintains its integrity over time. Additionally, the waxed surface repels moisture, protecting the internal poly bead fill from becoming saturated and losing its supportive properties.

The non-slip rubberized base is crucial for maintaining a stable shooting platform. It prevents the bag from sliding on surfaces, which can be a common issue when shooting on uneven or slick terrain. This feature ensures that once the bag is positioned, it remains in place, providing consistent support for the rifle. This stability is essential for achieving repeatable accuracy, especially in precision shooting scenarios where even minor movements can affect shot placement.

Yes, the medium-sized Real Avid Ratchet Rest is designed to serve as both a front and rear rest. This versatility makes it a practical choice for shooters who want a single solution for various shooting positions. By adjusting the height and position, the bag can support the rifle's fore-end or buttstock, providing stability and control in different shooting scenarios. This dual functionality reduces the need to carry multiple bags, simplifying your gear setup.

The Real Avid Ratchet Rest's micro-adjustable height and stable design make it ideal for long-range shooting. Long-range shooting requires precise control over the rifle's elevation and stability, which this shooting bag provides through its Accu-Click technology. The ability to make fine adjustments with one hand allows the shooter to maintain focus on the target, enhancing accuracy and consistency over extended distances. This feature is particularly beneficial in competitive shooting or hunting scenarios where precision is paramount.

The moisture-resistant poly bead fill ensures consistent support regardless of environmental conditions. This feature prevents the fill from absorbing moisture, which can compromise the bag's stability and support. By maintaining its shape and firmness, the shooting bag provides reliable performance in wet or humid conditions. This is particularly important for outdoor shooters who may encounter varying weather conditions during their activities.

While the Real Avid Ratchet Rest offers advanced features, it may require an adjustment period for those accustomed to traditional bags. The ratcheting system introduces a new method of height adjustment that differs from stacking or squeezing conventional bags. Some shooters may find the click-by-click adjustment less intuitive initially. However, the benefits of precise control and reduced gear carry typically outweigh these initial challenges, making it a worthwhile investment for those seeking enhanced shooting performance.

The Real Avid Ratchet Rest is well-suited for competitive shooting due to its precision and stability. Its micro-adjustable height control allows competitors to make precise adjustments quickly, which is crucial during timed events. The durable construction ensures it can withstand the rigors of frequent use in competitive environments. Additionally, its ability to serve as both a front and rear rest provides flexibility in various shooting stages, making it a versatile tool for competitive shooters.

The Real Avid Ratchet Rest enhances rifle zeroing by providing stable and repeatable support. Zeroing a rifle requires consistent positioning to ensure that adjustments to the scope or sights are accurate. The ratcheting system allows for precise elevation adjustments without disturbing the rifle's position, which is vital for achieving a true zero. This stability helps shooters maintain focus on the task, reducing the time and ammunition needed to achieve optimal results.

When selecting the medium-sized Real Avid Ratchet Rest, consider your specific shooting needs and environment. This size is versatile, serving as both a front and rear rest, but may not be suitable for all rifle sizes or shooting positions. Evaluate whether the medium size provides the necessary height and stability for your rifle setup. Additionally, consider the types of surfaces you typically shoot on, as the non-slip base is designed to provide stability across various terrains. These factors will help determine if this size meets your shooting requirements.
