Description

One Sling. Two Configurations. Zero Compromise.

The Magpul MS4® QDM Sling builds on the proven MS4 Dual QD Sling GEN2 by adding factory-installed Magpul QDM quick-disconnect swivels for faster manipulation, enhanced durability, and superior security. Designed for rapid transition between one-point and two-point configurations, the MS4 QDM Sling is ideal for duty, defensive, and preparedness-focused rifle setups.

The Magpul QDM is a heavy-duty evolution of the traditional push-button QD swivel, featuring a low-profile design, single-handed operation, and a high-strength, freely rotating steel bale that prevents sling webbing rollover. Finished with a corrosion-resistant QPQ salt bath nitride treatment, the QDM hardware is built to withstand hard use in harsh environments while remaining fully compatible with standard QD sling cup interfaces.

  • Factory-installed Magpul QDM swivels for rapid one-point and two-point conversion
  • QPQ salt bath nitride finished steel swivels and D-ring for extreme wear and corrosion resistance
  • Freely rotating QDM bale canalizes webbing to prevent rollover
  • Low-profile MS1® quick-adjust slider allows fast, secure length adjustment
  • No loose tails, loops, or snag hazards
  • Reinforced polymer slider and tri-glides reduce weight while maintaining strength

Comfort and Signature Management

  • Proprietary 1.25" tubular nylon webbing for strength and abrasion resistance
  • Anti-chafe construction for extended wear and use with body armor
  • Near Infrared (NIR) treated colored webbing helps reduce IR signature

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the main advantages of the Magpul MS4 QDM Sling over traditional slings?

The Magpul MS4 QDM Sling offers significant advantages over traditional slings, primarily through its versatility and durability. Its ability to transition between one-point and two-point configurations allows for rapid adaptability to different tactical scenarios. This is particularly beneficial in dynamic environments where flexibility is crucial. Additionally, the sling features factory-installed Magpul QDM quick-disconnect swivels, which enhance manipulation speed and provide superior security. The corrosion-resistant QPQ salt bath nitride treatment ensures the sling can withstand harsh conditions, making it an excellent choice for preparedness and defensive applications.

How does the quick-disconnect mechanism enhance the functionality of the MS4 QDM Sling?

The quick-disconnect mechanism of the MS4 QDM Sling significantly enhances its functionality by allowing for swift attachment and detachment. This feature is particularly useful in high-pressure situations where time is of the essence. The Magpul QDM swivels are designed for single-handed operation, providing ease of use without compromising security. This capability is crucial for tactical and defensive scenarios, where the ability to quickly transition between configurations can be a decisive factor.

In what scenarios would the one-point configuration of the MS4 QDM Sling be most beneficial?

The one-point configuration of the MS4 QDM Sling is particularly beneficial in scenarios requiring high mobility and quick weapon transitions. This setup allows for rapid shoulder transitions and is optimal for close-quarters combat where maneuverability is key. It provides a greater range of motion and facilitates quick access to the weapon, making it ideal for tactical operations in confined spaces. However, it may not provide the same level of stability as a two-point configuration when aiming for precision shots.

How does the MS4 QDM Sling's two-point configuration improve stability during shooting?

The two-point configuration of the MS4 QDM Sling enhances stability by distributing the weight of the firearm across two attachment points. This setup is ideal for situations where precision and control are paramount, such as long-range shooting or when maintaining a steady aim for extended periods. The two-point configuration reduces fatigue and allows for better control of the firearm, which is crucial in defensive and preparedness scenarios where accuracy is essential.

What materials are used in the construction of the Magpul MS4 QDM Sling, and how do they contribute to its durability?

The Magpul MS4 QDM Sling is constructed using high-strength materials designed to withstand rigorous use. The sling features proprietary 1.25-inch tubular nylon webbing, known for its strength and abrasion resistance. Additionally, the QDM swivels and D-ring are finished with a corrosion-resistant QPQ salt bath nitride treatment, ensuring durability even in harsh environments. These materials collectively contribute to the sling's reliability and longevity, making it suitable for both tactical and everyday use.

How does the MS4 QDM Sling perform in harsh environmental conditions?

The MS4 QDM Sling is designed to perform exceptionally well in harsh environmental conditions. Its components, including the Magpul QDM swivels, are treated with a corrosion-resistant QPQ salt bath nitride finish, which protects against wear and rust. The durable nylon webbing is resistant to abrasion and moisture, ensuring the sling's functionality in wet or abrasive environments. This makes the MS4 QDM Sling a reliable choice for outdoor and tactical operations where environmental factors can be unpredictable.

What are the compatibility considerations for mounting the MS4 QDM Sling on different firearms?

The MS4 QDM Sling is designed for compatibility with a wide range of firearms due to its versatile mounting options. It is compatible with Magpul ASAP QD plates and other end plates, receivers, and buttstocks equipped with QD sling swivel sockets. For two-point operation, it works with Magpul RSA QD, M-LOK QD Sling Mounts, and other QD sling swivel mounts. This versatility allows users to integrate the sling into various rifle setups, ensuring it can meet the needs of different tactical and defensive applications.

How does the MS4 QDM Sling manage comfort and reduce fatigue during extended use?

The MS4 QDM Sling is designed with comfort in mind, featuring anti-chafe construction and proprietary nylon webbing. The 1.25-inch tubular nylon webbing is not only strong but also soft enough to prevent discomfort during extended wear. This is particularly important when used with body armor or in situations requiring prolonged carrying of a firearm. The sling's design minimizes fatigue by evenly distributing weight and reducing pressure points, making it suitable for long missions or patrols.

What is the significance of the Near Infrared (NIR) treatment on the MS4 QDM Sling?

The Near Infrared (NIR) treatment on the MS4 QDM Sling is significant for reducing the IR signature of the webbing. This treatment is crucial for tactical operations where stealth is necessary, as it helps prevent detection by night vision equipment. By minimizing the IR signature, the sling contributes to the overall concealment of the operator, enhancing operational security in low-light or night-time conditions. This feature is particularly valuable for military and law enforcement applications.

How does the low-profile design of the MS4 QDM Sling contribute to its usability?

The low-profile design of the MS4 QDM Sling enhances usability by reducing snag hazards and improving maneuverability. This design ensures that the sling does not interfere with other gear or equipment, which is essential in tactical environments where space and movement are limited. The low-profile Magpul QDM swivels and MS1 quick-adjust slider allow for seamless transitions between configurations without adding bulk. This makes the sling an excellent choice for those who require a streamlined, efficient setup for defensive and preparedness-focused rifle operations.
