Description

The Magpul MS4® Dual QD Sling GEN2 is a versatile, duty-ready sling designed for rapid transitions between one-point and two-point configurations. Built to meet the same mission requirements as the MS3, the MS4 replaces Paraclips™ with two heavy-duty push-button QD sling swivels, making it ideal for firearms equipped with QD sling cups on receivers, end plates, buttstocks, and handguards.

At the core of the MS4 GEN2 is a low-profile MS1® quick-adjust slider that minimizes bulk while allowing fast, one-handed sling tension adjustment in two-point mode. Increased webbing length ensures a comfortable fit across a wide range of body types and armor setups, making it equally suited for training, duty use, or preparedness-focused rifle setups.

A precision-cast steel QD D-ring, finished with QPQ salt bath nitride, allows seamless conversion between one-point and two-point operation while providing exceptional resistance to wear and corrosion. Combined with Magpul’s custom 1.25” nylon webbing—treated with Near Infrared (NIR) reduction—the MS4 delivers durability, comfort, and reduced IR signature in professional environments.

The Magpul MS4 Gen2 Sling enhances firearm versatility by allowing rapid transitions between one-point and two-point configurations. This adaptability is crucial in tactical scenarios where mobility and stability are required. The sling's design includes heavy-duty push-button QD sling swivels that facilitate quick changes, making it ideal for dynamic environments. Whether in training or active duty, this flexibility enables users to adjust their setup for optimal control and comfort.

What makes the MS4 Gen2 Sling suitable for use in professional environments?

The MS4 Gen2 Sling is suitable for professional environments due to its durable construction and features designed for tactical use. It includes a precision-cast steel QD D-ring with a QPQ nitride finish, offering exceptional resistance to wear and corrosion. Additionally, the sling's Near Infrared (NIR) treated webbing reduces its infrared signature, making it less detectable in low-light operations. These features ensure reliability and discretion, essential for professional applications.

How does the quick-adjust slider on the MS4 Gen2 Sling function?

The quick-adjust slider on the MS4 Gen2 Sling allows for fast, one-handed tension adjustments in two-point mode. This feature is particularly useful in situations where you need to quickly adapt the sling's length to suit different shooting positions or gear configurations. The low-profile design minimizes bulk, ensuring the slider doesn't interfere with other equipment or movements. This functionality is vital for maintaining readiness and comfort during extended use.

What are the benefits of the MS4 Gen2 Sling's increased webbing length?

The increased webbing length of the MS4 Gen2 Sling provides a comfortable fit across a wide range of body types and armor setups. This is particularly beneficial for users who wear body armor or have larger frames, as it ensures the sling can be adjusted to fit comfortably without restricting movement. The extended length also allows for greater flexibility in how the sling is worn, accommodating various tactical and training scenarios.

How does the MS4 Gen2 Sling's design reduce infrared signature?

The MS4 Gen2 Sling reduces infrared signature through its Near Infrared (NIR) treated nylon webbing. This treatment minimizes the sling's visibility under night vision and infrared detection, which is crucial for maintaining stealth in low-light or night operations. By reducing the IR signature, the sling helps users remain undetected in environments where infrared surveillance is a concern.

What compatibility options does the MS4 Gen2 Sling offer for mounting?

The MS4 Gen2 Sling offers extensive compatibility with various mounting options, thanks to its QD sling swivels. It can be attached to QD-equipped receivers, end plates, buttstocks, and handguards. This versatility ensures that the sling can be used with a wide range of firearms and configurations, making it a valuable addition to any tactical setup. The sling's compatibility with different mounts enhances its adaptability across different platforms.

Why is the MS4 Gen2 Sling considered duty-ready?

The MS4 Gen2 Sling is considered duty-ready due to its robust construction and versatile features. It is made from 1.25” nylon webbing that is strong, wear-resistant, and treated to reduce chafing. The heavy-duty QD swivels and precision-cast steel components ensure durability under demanding conditions. These characteristics make the sling suitable for rigorous use in law enforcement, military, and preparedness contexts.

What are the trade-offs of using a convertible sling like the MS4 Gen2?

Using a convertible sling like the MS4 Gen2 offers flexibility but requires consideration of certain trade-offs. While the ability to switch between one-point and two-point configurations is advantageous, it may involve a learning curve to effectively utilize both modes. Additionally, the added components for conversion can introduce slight complexity compared to a single-mode sling. However, for users who value adaptability and are willing to invest time in mastering the sling's features, these trade-offs are often outweighed by the benefits.

How does the MS4 Gen2 Sling accommodate different body types?

The MS4 Gen2 Sling accommodates different body types through its adjustable length and ergonomic design. The sling features an overall length of 48–60 inches with an additional 10-inch slider adjustment range, allowing users to customize the fit according to their size and gear. This adaptability ensures comfort and functionality for a wide range of users, from those wearing minimal gear to those with full tactical setups.

What materials contribute to the MS4 Gen2 Sling's durability?

The durability of the MS4 Gen2 Sling is attributed to its high-quality materials and construction. The sling is constructed from 1.25” nylon webbing, known for its strength and resistance to wear. The precision-cast steel QD D-ring and QD swivels ensure robust performance, with the QPQ nitride finish providing additional protection against corrosion.
