Description

The next-generation, completely polymer bipod from Magpul, designed for strength and reliability at an ultralight weight.

The MOE Bipod is the lightest and strongest option in the Magpul Bipod lineup, weighing only 8 oz—almost 40% lighter than other Magpul bipods. Despite its lighter weight, the injection-molded polymer legs are engineered for durability, providing a stable platform shot after shot. The MOE Bipod is perfect for those seeking strength and reliability without added weight.

Designed to mount to Uncle Mike's-style sling swivel studs, the MOE Bipod attaches easily with a rapid-attach sling stud system. Stainless-steel clasps ensure perfect alignment, while the ergonomic thumbwheel allows for a strong, secure grip. The non-marring, over-molded saddle distributes load evenly without leaving marks on your rifle, and an optional low-profile sling stud allows users to attach a sling to the forend.

With a low stack height of just 1.73” when folded, the MOE Bipod remains streamlined until needed. The legs deploy without buttons or levers, snapping down and locking into position. They extend from 7 to 10 inches, adjustable in ½-inch increments with secure locking detents. The staggered rubber feet provide traction on various surfaces and can be easily replaced with most Atlas-pattern bipod feet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Magpul MOE Bipod different from other bipods?

The Magpul MOE Bipod stands out due to its ultralight weight and robust polymer construction. Weighing only 8 oz, it is approximately 40% lighter than other Magpul bipods, making it an excellent choice for those who prioritize weight without sacrificing strength. Its injection-molded polymer legs are engineered for durability, providing a stable shooting platform. This combination of lightweight and strength makes it ideal for both tactical and hunting scenarios where mobility and reliability are crucial.

How does the MOE Bipod attach to a rifle?

The MOE Bipod attaches to rifles using an Uncle Mike's-style sling swivel stud. This attachment method is facilitated by a rapid-attach sling stud system, which ensures a secure and quick installation. The ergonomic thumbwheel allows for easy tightening, ensuring the bipod remains firmly in place during use. This setup is particularly advantageous for shooters who need to frequently attach and detach their bipod in dynamic environments.

What are the height adjustment options for the MOE Bipod?

The MOE Bipod offers adjustable leg lengths ranging from 7 to 10 inches. The legs can be extended in ½-inch increments, allowing for precise height adjustments to suit various shooting positions and terrains. This feature ensures that the bipod can provide a stable shooting platform whether you're on uneven ground or need a lower profile for prone shooting. The secure locking detents keep the legs firmly in place once adjusted.

Can the MOE Bipod's feet be replaced?

Yes, the MOE Bipod features staggered rubber feet that provide excellent traction on various surfaces. These feet can be easily replaced with most Atlas-pattern bipod feet, offering customization options for different terrains and preferences. This versatility is beneficial for shooters who may need to adapt their equipment for different environments, ensuring optimal stability and performance.

How does the MOE Bipod ensure stability without damaging the rifle?

The MOE Bipod features a non-marring, over-molded saddle that distributes the load evenly. This design prevents any marks or damage to the rifle while ensuring a stable and secure fit. The stainless-steel clasps maintain perfect alignment, enhancing the overall stability of the bipod during use. This is particularly important for maintaining the condition of your firearm, especially in high-stress shooting situations.

Is the MOE Bipod suitable for use in tactical situations?

Yes, the MOE Bipod is well-suited for tactical applications due to its lightweight and durable design. Its rapid deployment and secure locking features make it ideal for quick adjustments in dynamic environments. The polymer construction ensures that it can withstand the rigors of tactical use without adding unnecessary weight to your gear. This makes it a practical choice for military and law enforcement personnel who require reliable support in the field.

How does the MOE Bipod's design contribute to its portability?

The MOE Bipod is designed with a low stack height of just 1.73 inches when folded. This compact design ensures that it remains streamlined and unobtrusive when not in use, making it easy to carry and store. This feature is particularly beneficial for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts who need to minimize bulk and weight while moving through challenging terrains.

What are the trade-offs of using a polymer bipod like the MOE Bipod?

While the polymer construction of the MOE Bipod offers significant weight savings and durability, it may not provide the same level of rigidity as metal bipods. However, the MOE Bipod is engineered to balance these factors, providing a stable platform without the added weight of metal. For users prioritizing portability and ease of use, the trade-off is often worthwhile, especially in scenarios where mobility is crucial.

Can the MOE Bipod be used for long-range shooting?

The MOE Bipod can be effectively used for long-range shooting, thanks to its stable platform and adjustable height. The ability to fine-tune the leg length ensures that you can maintain a consistent shooting position, which is critical for accuracy at long distances. However, users should ensure that the bipod is properly secured to avoid any movement that could affect shot placement.

What maintenance does the MOE Bipod require?

The MOE Bipod requires minimal maintenance due to its durable polymer construction. Regular cleaning to remove dirt and debris will ensure smooth operation of the legs and locking mechanisms. It's also advisable to periodically check the tightness of the attachment points to maintain a secure fit on your rifle. This simple maintenance routine helps prolong the lifespan and performance of the bipod.
