The Magpul CTR® (Compact/Type Restricted) – Mil-Spec model is a drop-in replacement buttstock designed for AR15/M16 carbines with Mil-Spec receiver extension tubes. With its streamlined A-frame profile, the CTR minimizes snags and protects the release latch from accidental activation during fast, dynamic operations. Built for lightweight, fast-action performance, the CTR offers an optimal balance of durability and simplicity.

The CTR stock also includes a supplemental friction lock system that significantly reduces stock wobble, improving weapon stability. Additionally, an ambidextrous QD sling mount accommodates any push-button sling swivel for versatile, comfortable sling attachment options. The Mil-Spec version comes equipped with a standard 0.3" thick rubber butt-pad to prevent slippage, even when wearing body armor or tactical gear.
