Schrade - INERT Folder with AUS-10 Steel and Blue Handle

The AUS-10 steel used in the Schrade INERT Folder is known for its excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance. This type of steel is a high-grade stainless steel that balances toughness and sharpness, making it ideal for a folding knife intended for various tasks. Its ability to maintain a sharp edge longer means less frequent sharpening, which is crucial in survival situations where maintenance tools may be limited.

The Wharncliffe blade shape of the Schrade INERT Folder offers a straight edge with a gradual curve at the tip, providing excellent control. This design is particularly effective for precision cutting tasks and slicing, making it a versatile choice for both everyday use and emergency situations. The straight edge is easy to sharpen in the field, which is an advantage when access to sharpening tools is limited.

Ultra Glide Technology in the Schrade INERT Folder ensures smooth and effortless blade deployment. This feature is critical in situations where quick access to your knife is necessary, such as in tactical or emergency scenarios. The technology reduces friction during opening, allowing for rapid deployment while maintaining the knife's durability and reliability over time.

The liner lock mechanism in the Schrade INERT Folder secures the blade firmly in place during use. This locking system is designed to prevent accidental closure, providing safety and confidence while performing tasks. It's particularly beneficial in high-pressure situations where secure handling is essential, such as in survival or tactical environments.

The blue aluminum handle of the Schrade INERT Folder combines durability with a modern aesthetic. Aluminum is lightweight yet strong, making it ideal for a portable tool that needs to withstand tough conditions. The anodized blue finish not only adds a distinctive look but also provides additional corrosion resistance, which is beneficial in outdoor environments.

The Schrade INERT Folder is versatile enough for a variety of scenarios, from everyday tasks to emergency preparedness. Its robust construction and reliable features make it suitable for camping, hiking, and survival situations where a dependable cutting tool is essential. The knife's design allows for precise cuts and heavy-duty tasks, making it a valuable addition to any preparedness kit.

Within the Schrade DEL TA Class, the INERT Folder stands out for its combination of sleek design and high functionality. While other knives in the DEL TA Class may offer different blade shapes or handle materials, the INERT Folder's AUS-10 steel and Wharncliffe blade provide a unique balance of sharpness and control. This makes it particularly suited for users who prioritize precision and ease of maintenance.

Maintaining the Schrade INERT Folder involves regular cleaning and occasional sharpening to ensure peak performance. The AUS-10 steel blade should be cleaned and dried after use to prevent corrosion, even though the steel is resistant. Sharpening should be done with appropriate tools to maintain the blade's edge, especially after heavy use. The aluminum handle can be wiped clean with a damp cloth to maintain its appearance.

The Schrade INERT Folder is well-suited for tactical use due to its robust construction and reliable features. The quick deployment enabled by Ultra Glide Technology and the secure liner lock make it a dependable choice in high-stress situations. Its durable materials and ergonomic design ensure it can handle the demands of tactical environments, providing both functionality and safety.
