Construction

The MCH Duty incorporates the best tech we have ever packed into a handheld flashlight. Made from Type III Hard Coat anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, and shrouded in S7 tool steel, the light head is Black Nitride plated and heat-treated to 51-55 Rockwell for absurd levels of strength. And if you do somehow manage to break the ultra-thick 3mm lens, the glass is field serviceable and replaceable. The MCH Duty is ready for any task, in all weather conditions, and is IPX-8 rated to be fully submerged up to 100 feet for 24 hours. Proudly made in the USA.

Innovation

No stone was left unturned when creating the MCH Duty. Along with its ultra-durable construction, the beam pattern was meticulously chosen to produce a massive "hot spot" while offering generous amounts of spill. We also developed our own deep carry pocket clip made from heat-treated steel and offering the perfect amount of tension for securing the light in your pocket or elsewhere. If that's not your style, the Duty is fully compatible with aftermarket Thyrm® clips including the popular Thrym® Switchback.

Included with your handheld is an industry-first, Adjustable Negligent Discharge Protection system. This patented ND protection system enables users to configure their tailcap for any application—whether for deep-pocket, belt carry, or plate carrier attachment—by simply swapping out the ND protection rings to achieve their desired height and feel.

Power

With an impressive 1,800 lumens and 50,000 candela on tap, the Duty light is capable of projecting light far into the night while providing more expansive coverage than other handhelds on the market. This feature enables world-class situational awareness by illuminating dead spaces and brightening shadows. Additionally, its Dual Fuel capability ensures that your MCH Duty can operate with either 18650 batteries or CR123s, offering flexibility in various situations. Fully tested to ANSI/PLATO-FL1 standards.

When set to low-power mode, the MCH Duty transforms into an excellent administrative flashlight by offering prolonged run-times. In this mode (10% output) the Duty can illuminate for the majority of the night on just a single charge. This makes it the ideal light for your bedside, in your vehicle, desk drawer, garage, or virtually any place you can think of. The MCH Duty is the most adaptable flashlight we've ever created.

(Note: Expect performance degradation with CR123A batteries: 20,000 Candela / 500 Lumens)

Supports most button-top, Unprotected cells. However, the MCH Duty has minimal compatibility with Protected cells; hence, compatibility with such cells should not be presumed. We strongly recommend utilizing Unprotected cells for their significant performance enhancements.

Programmable

The MCH Duty is 5-mode programmable, providing you with unparalleled control over output settings. Additionally, you have the flexibility to change programming whenever you wish, further enhancing the MCH's configurability. See our detailed programming instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Cloud Defensive MCH Duty flashlight suitable for extreme conditions?

The Cloud Defensive MCH Duty flashlight is designed to withstand harsh environments due to its robust construction. Made from Type III Hard Coat anodized 6061-T6 aluminum and shrouded in S7 tool steel, it features a Black Nitride-plated light head that is heat-treated for extreme strength. This makes the flashlight not only durable but also resistant to corrosion and wear. Additionally, its IPX-8 rating ensures it can be fully submerged up to 100 feet for 24 hours, making it ideal for wet and challenging conditions.

How does the MCH Duty flashlight's beam pattern enhance situational awareness?

The MCH Duty flashlight features a meticulously chosen beam pattern that enhances situational awareness by providing a massive 'hot spot' and generous spill. This design allows the flashlight to illuminate dead spaces and brighten shadows, which is crucial in tactical scenarios or when navigating dark environments. Such a beam pattern is particularly useful for law enforcement and civilian use in ensuring that no area is left unlit, thereby improving safety and visibility.

What are the power options available for the MCH Duty flashlight?

The MCH Duty flashlight offers Dual Fuel capability, allowing it to operate with either 18650 batteries or CR123s. This flexibility is advantageous in various situations, especially when one type of battery is unavailable. However, it's important to note that performance is optimized with 18650 batteries, providing 50,000 candela and 1,800 lumens, whereas CR123A batteries result in reduced output of 20,000 candela and 500 lumens.

How does the Adjustable Negligent Discharge Protection system work on the MCH Duty?

The Adjustable Negligent Discharge Protection system on the MCH Duty flashlight allows users to configure the tailcap for different applications. By swapping out the protection rings, users can adjust the height and feel of the tailcap, making it suitable for deep-pocket, belt carry, or plate carrier attachment. This customization helps prevent accidental activation, ensuring the flashlight is only used when intended.

What are the runtime expectations for the MCH Duty flashlight in different modes?

The MCH Duty flashlight offers varying runtimes depending on the mode selected. At full power, it provides a runtime of 60 minutes, while medium power extends this to 120 minutes. In low power mode, the flashlight can operate for over 6 hours. This versatility makes it suitable for both short-term tactical use and prolonged administrative tasks, such as reading or map navigation.

How does the MCH Duty flashlight's construction contribute to its durability?

The MCH Duty flashlight's durability is largely due to its construction from Type III Hard Coat anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, combined with S7 tool steel. The light head is Black Nitride plated and heat-treated to a Rockwell hardness of 51-55, providing exceptional strength and resistance to impact. This robust build ensures the flashlight can withstand rough handling and environmental stressors, making it a reliable tool in any survival kit.

Can the MCH Duty flashlight be used with aftermarket accessories?

Yes, the MCH Duty flashlight is compatible with aftermarket accessories, including Thyrm® clips. This compatibility allows users to personalize their flashlight setup with popular options like the Thyrm® Switchback, enhancing grip and usability. Such adaptability makes the MCH Duty a versatile choice for those needing a customizable lighting solution.

What are the programming options available on the MCH Duty flashlight?

The MCH Duty flashlight offers five programmable modes, allowing users to tailor the output to their specific needs. These modes range from high-only to combinations of low, medium, and high outputs, providing flexibility for different scenarios. Users can easily switch between modes, making it simple to adjust the flashlight's performance based on the task at hand.

How does the MCH Duty flashlight fit into an everyday carry (EDC) setup?

The MCH Duty flashlight is an excellent addition to an everyday carry setup due to its compact size and powerful output. Measuring 5.35 inches in length and weighing 6.67 ounces with the battery, it is portable yet robust. Its deep carry pocket clip ensures secure attachment, making it convenient to carry in a pocket or on a belt. What are the tradeoffs of using CR123A batteries with the MCH Duty flashlight?

Using CR123A batteries with the MCH Duty flashlight results in a tradeoff between convenience and performance. While CR123A batteries are widely available and offer a compact power source, they significantly reduce the flashlight's output to 20,000 candela and 500 lumens compared to the 18650 batteries. This reduction may impact the flashlight's effectiveness in long-range or high-intensity scenarios, making it crucial to consider your specific needs when selecting a power source.
