MAXIM Climbing Ropes - Apex 9.9mm x 60m Ivy Dry

The MAXIM Apex 9.9mm climbing rope is equipped with an Endura DRY-treated core, enhancing its performance in wet conditions. This treatment provides a protective barrier against moisture, ensuring that the rope maintains its strength and flexibility even when exposed to rain or humidity. This feature is particularly beneficial for climbers who often find themselves in unpredictable weather, as it reduces the risk of water absorption that can compromise a rope's integrity.

The UIAA fall rating is a critical measure of a climbing rope's ability to withstand falls without failing. The MAXIM Apex 9.9mm rope boasts a high UIAA fall rating, indicating that it can endure multiple falls, which is essential for climbers who frequently push their limits. This rating assures climbers that the rope is reliable under stress, providing peace of mind in demanding climbing scenarios.

The MAXIM Apex 9.9mm rope is versatile and designed for top rope, big wall, and trad climbing. Its robust construction and high performance make it ideal for these climbing styles, where durability and reliability are paramount. Whether you're scaling a sheer rock face or navigating complex trad routes, this rope provides the necessary support and safety.

The Endura DRY treatment applied to the MAXIM Apex rope significantly enhances its durability by providing a protective layer against environmental elements. This treatment not only repels moisture but also helps resist abrasion and wear, extending the lifespan of the rope. For climbers, this means less frequent replacements and a more reliable tool during critical climbs.

The 9.9mm diameter of the MAXIM Apex climbing rope strikes a balance between weight and durability. This size provides a comfortable grip for climbers while maintaining a robust structure capable of handling the stresses of climbing. It is thick enough to ensure safety and longevity, yet not so heavy as to be cumbersome during ascents.

The MAXIM Apex rope meets EN 892/UIAA 101 standards, which are established to ensure the safety and performance of climbing ropes. These standards require ropes to pass rigorous testing for strength, elongation, and impact force. By meeting these criteria, the Apex rope assures climbers of its reliability and safety in various climbing conditions.

When using the MAXIM Apex rope for big wall climbing, climbers should consider its length, durability, and moisture resistance. The 60m length is suitable for most big wall routes, providing ample reach for long pitches. Its Endura DRY treatment ensures the rope remains reliable in varying weather conditions, a crucial factor when spending extended periods on a wall.

To maintain the longevity of the MAXIM Apex rope, regular inspection and cleaning are essential. After each climb, check for signs of wear or damage, such as fraying or cuts. Cleaning the rope with mild soap and water can remove dirt and debris that may degrade the fibers over time. Proper storage, away from direct sunlight and chemicals, will also help preserve its condition.

Using a 60m rope such as the MAXIM Apex for trad climbing offers a balance between reach and manageability. While it provides sufficient length for most routes, it may not be adequate for the longest pitches, requiring careful planning of anchor points. Additionally, the weight of a 60m rope is manageable, making it easier to carry and handle during climbs.

The MAXIM Apex 9.9mm rope is ideal for scenarios where high performance and durability are required, such as challenging trad routes and demanding big wall climbs. Its moisture resistance and robust construction make it suitable for environments where weather conditions can change rapidly. This rope is a reliable choice for climbers who need a dependable tool in both dry and wet conditions.
