Evolution Outdoor - Tactical Competition Shooting Mat - Coyote

The Evolution Outdoor Tactical Competition Shooting Mat is designed to enhance stability through its non-skid, water-resistant bottom. This feature ensures that the mat remains securely in place, even on slippery or uneven surfaces, allowing shooters to maintain a steady position. The inclusion of elbow and knee pads further aids in reducing discomfort during extended periods of shooting, which is crucial for maintaining focus and precision in both competitive and training environments.

The mat's construction is tailored for outdoor use, featuring a durable, water-resistant material that withstands various weather conditions. The sturdy corner grommets allow the mat to be staked down with the included stakes, providing additional security against wind. This makes it an ideal choice for field operations and outdoor shooting competitions where environmental factors can be unpredictable.

Yes, the mat is designed for portability with a handle and shoulder strap for easy transport. This feature is particularly beneficial when moving between different shooting locations or when packing for a day at the range. Its lightweight design ensures that it can be carried without adding significant weight to your gear loadout.

The Evolution Outdoor Shooting Mat includes built-in elbow and knee pads to enhance comfort during prolonged use. These pads help alleviate pressure points that can occur during long shooting sessions, allowing shooters to maintain a comfortable and stable position. This is especially important in competitive shooting where maintaining focus and precision over time is critical.

The mat contains Diisononyl Phthalate (DINP), a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects. Users should be aware of this warning and consider it when making purchasing decisions. For more detailed information, you can visit the California Proposition 65 website. It's important to weigh these risks against the benefits of the product in your specific use case.

While the Evolution Outdoor Shooting Mat is versatile, it's particularly well-suited for precision shooting and competitions. Its design focuses on stability and comfort, which are critical for disciplines requiring prone shooting positions. However, for disciplines that require frequent movement or standing positions, a different type of mat or equipment might be more appropriate.

The Coyote color of the mat offers a tactical advantage by blending into natural environments. This can be particularly beneficial in field operations where camouflage is important. The color helps reduce visibility to others, providing an additional layer of stealth in tactical scenarios.

To maintain the shooting mat, it should be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent and water. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could degrade the material. After cleaning, ensure the mat is thoroughly dried before storage to prevent mold or mildew, especially if it has been used in wet conditions.

The mat is designed to perform well in a variety of environmental conditions, thanks to its water-resistant and non-skid materials. It can be used on wet or dry surfaces without slipping, making it reliable in both rainy and arid environments. However, extreme temperatures may affect the comfort level of the mat, so it's advisable to consider additional insulation or padding in very cold conditions.

The primary trade-off of using the Evolution Outdoor Shooting Mat is balancing portability with comfort. While it offers excellent stability and protection, it may not be as compact as some lighter, less padded options. Users must decide if the added comfort and durability justify the slightly larger size and weight, particularly when transport space is limited.
