Description

Dual Illuminated Red Ring & 2 MOA Center Dot Reticle w/ Mount with Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology

The Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S Scope is a fixed magnification riflescope with an illuminated reticle pattern for use in any lighting conditions. Dual illumination provides two sources of battery-free illumination – fiber optics and tritium. The fiber optics use ambient light to automatically adjust the brightness level and contrast of the reticle to available light conditions. The tritium-phosphor lamp glows in low-light conditions. The ACOG body is designed to be extremely rugged and reliable. Wrapped in a smaller package, at 5.1 ounces (without mount), this ACOG is perfect for fast-moving tactical teams operating in close quarters or for speed-oriented competition venues. The forged 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy housing provides for a nearly indestructible sighting system. No other magnified optic has been used more in combat than the Trijicon ACOG. No tools are needed for windage and elevation adjustments because the ACOG features external adjusters. All adjuster caps are provided with a lanyard assembly to minimize the loss of caps. This model provides weapons like the M16/M4 with excellent fire control capability. Targets are easier and quicker to acquire through the 1.5x16 models because of the larger field of view (7.4 degrees) and eye-friendly design.

The Trijicon Compact ACOG Mount w/ Q-LOC™ Technology features a Mil-Spec drop test rated 6061-T6 aluminum design, with an easy to use one handed tool less mounting system. The spring-loaded design allows for constant retention and maintaining of zero even if the knobs are not tightened.

The mount boasts a low weight and low profile design with superior return to zero performance and is compatible with any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Trijicon 1.5x16S Compact ACOG® Scope suitable for tactical use?

The Trijicon 1.5x16S Compact ACOG® Scope is designed for tactical use due to its rugged construction and reliable performance. Its body is made from forged 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, providing a nearly indestructible sighting system. This model is particularly effective for fast-moving tactical teams operating in close quarters, thanks to its compact size and lightweight design. The scope's dual illumination system, which uses both fiber optics and tritium, ensures visibility in any lighting condition without the need for batteries. For more insights on tactical gear, visit our Tactical Survival Gear collection.

How does the dual illumination system work in the Trijicon ACOG scope?

The dual illumination system in the Trijicon ACOG scope combines fiber optics and tritium to provide a reliable, battery-free reticle illumination. Fiber optics collect ambient light to automatically adjust the brightness and contrast of the reticle to match light conditions, while the tritium-phosphor lamp illuminates the reticle in low-light situations. This ensures that the reticle is always visible, regardless of the time of day or lighting conditions, making it ideal for both daytime and nighttime operations. For more on optics and sights, explore our Optics, Sights & Lasers collection.

What are the benefits of the Bindon Aiming Concept™ (BAC) in this scope?

The Bindon Aiming Concept™ (BAC) allows for 'both eyes open' shooting, enhancing situational awareness and target acquisition speed. This feature is particularly beneficial in dynamic environments where rapid target engagement is crucial. By keeping both eyes open, users can maintain peripheral vision and depth perception, which are often compromised when using traditional scopes. This makes the BAC ideal for tactical scenarios and competitive shooting where quick reactions are necessary. For additional information on improving shooting skills, check out our guide on choosing the best rifle scope.

Is the Trijicon ACOG scope suitable for all weather conditions?

Yes, the Trijicon ACOG scope is designed to perform in all weather conditions. It is waterproof and exceeds military standards for water resistance, ensuring functionality even in heavy rain or submerged conditions. The scope is also filled with dry nitrogen to prevent internal fogging, making it reliable in both extreme cold and hot environments. This durability makes it a trusted choice for military and tactical applications worldwide. For more on weather-resistant gear, visit our Safety & Security collection.

How does the Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology enhance the scope's performance?

Trijicon Q-LOC™ Technology enhances the scope's performance by providing a secure, tool-less mounting system. This system ensures quick attachment and detachment from any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail, maintaining zero even if the knobs are not fully tightened. The spring-loaded design offers constant retention, which is crucial for maintaining accuracy in high-pressure situations. This technology is particularly beneficial for users who need to frequently switch optics or transport their firearms. For more on mounting solutions, explore our Optical Accessories collection.

What types of firearms is the Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S Scope compatible with?

The Trijicon ACOG 1.5x16S Scope is compatible with a variety of firearms, particularly those using the M16/M4 platform. Its design allows for excellent fire control capabilities, making it suitable for both military and civilian applications. The scope's compatibility with any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail further broadens its usability across different firearm models. This versatility ensures that the ACOG can be a valuable addition to both tactical setups and competitive shooting configurations. For more on firearm compatibility, visit our Weapon Parts & Upgrades collection.

How does the Trijicon ACOG scope handle recoil from different calibers?

The Trijicon ACOG scope is designed to withstand recoil from a wide range of calibers, from .22LR to .50BMG. Its robust construction and shock-resistant design ensure that it can handle the force of powerful rounds without losing zero. This makes it a reliable choice for users who may need to switch between firearms with different recoil characteristics. The scope's ability to maintain performance under such conditions is a testament to its durability and engineering. For more on recoil management, explore our Optics & Sights collection.

What are the tradeoffs of using a fixed magnification scope like the Trijicon ACOG?

Using a fixed magnification scope like the Trijicon ACOG offers simplicity and reliability but comes with certain tradeoffs. The fixed 1.5x magnification provides a clear and wide field of view, which is beneficial for close to mid-range engagements. However, it lacks the flexibility of variable magnification scopes, which can be adjusted for different ranges. This makes the ACOG ideal for scenarios where quick target acquisition is more critical than long-range precision. Users must consider their specific needs and typical engagement distances when choosing between fixed and variable optics. For more on scope selection, check our guide on red dot sights.

Can the Trijicon ACOG scope be used effectively in competitive shooting?

Yes, the Trijicon ACOG scope can be used effectively in competitive shooting, particularly in speed-oriented events. Its compact design and wide field of view make it ideal for rapid target acquisition and transitions between targets. The scope's durability ensures consistent performance even under the stress of competition. However, competitors should consider the fixed magnification when selecting events, as it may not be suitable for long-range precision shooting. For more on competitive shooting gear, visit our Training & Targets collection.

What maintenance is required for the Trijicon ACOG scope to ensure longevity?

To ensure the longevity of the Trijicon ACOG scope, regular maintenance is recommended. This includes cleaning the lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth and using lens cleaning solutions to remove dust and smudges. It's also important to check the mount and ensure it remains securely attached to the firearm. Periodically inspect the scope for any signs of wear or damage, especially after exposure to harsh conditions. Proper storage in a protective case when not in use will also help maintain its condition. For more on maintaining your optics, explore our Tools & Cleaning Equipment collection.
