Inspired by a real life emergency

The Wolf Pack was inspired by our mascot, Barron - a 115 pound Swiss Mountain dog who lives for the trails. A few winters ago, Barron was hit by a ski while touring, where his dad (aka Uncharted Founder Christian Schauf), used an Uncharted Triage Kit to apply a makeshift tourniquet to Barron's leg. At the vet an hour later, Christian's duct tape, zip tie, blood-stopping contraption was credited for saving Barron's life, and the idea for a dog-specific first aid kit emerged.

Fidlock Technlogy

Fidlock technology provides a magnetic, self-securing, quick attachment, with double the strength of a conventional buckle.

How does The Wolf Pack help in emergency situations for dogs?

The Wolf Pack is designed to address common dog emergencies like cuts, bites, and stings. It includes essential first aid items such as blood clotting gauze and triple antibiotic cream, which can be crucial in managing wounds and preventing infections. The quick access to these supplies can make a significant difference in stabilizing your pet until professional veterinary care is available. What sizes are available for The Wolf Pack, and how do I choose the right one?

The Wolf Pack is available in two sizes: M/L and L/XL. The M/L size fits necks from 16.5" to 20.5", suitable for medium breeds like Border Collies and Boxers. The L/XL size fits necks from 20.5" to 23.5", ideal for larger breeds such as German Shepherds and Swiss Mountain Dogs. If your dog is between sizes, it is recommended to size up for a more comfortable fit. This ensures that the collar does not restrict movement or cause discomfort during activities. Its durable construction and comfortable design make it suitable for daily use, while the integrated first aid kit ensures that you are always prepared for unexpected situations. The collar's materials and features are chosen to withstand regular wear and tear, making it a practical choice for active dogs. However, it's important to regularly check the first aid supplies to ensure they are complete and in good condition. For more on everyday preparedness, visit our Everyday Carry Essentials guide.

What inspired the creation of The Wolf Pack?

The Wolf Pack was inspired by a real-life emergency involving Barron, a Swiss Mountain dog. Barron was injured while skiing, and his owner used an improvised first aid solution to stabilize him until they reached a vet. This experience highlighted the need for a dog-specific first aid kit that could be easily carried and accessed during outdoor activities. The Wolf Pack was developed to provide pet owners with peace of mind, knowing they have the tools needed to handle common canine emergencies. To learn more about first aid preparedness, check our Prepper Medical Supplies article.

How should I maintain The Wolf Pack to ensure it remains effective?

Regular maintenance of The Wolf Pack is crucial to ensure its effectiveness. Check the first aid supplies periodically to ensure they are complete and have not expired. The collar itself should be cleaned regularly to remove dirt and debris, which can affect its durability and comfort. Additionally, inspect the Fidlock buckle and V-ring for signs of wear and tear to ensure they function properly during emergencies. For more tips on maintaining emergency gear, explore our Essential Prepping Supplies guide.

Is The Wolf Pack suitable for all dog breeds?

The Wolf Pack is designed primarily for medium to large dog breeds. The collar comes in M/L and L/XL sizes, accommodating neck sizes from 16.5" to 23.5". While it is ideal for active dogs that frequently engage in outdoor activities, it may not be suitable for very small breeds due to its size and weight. For smaller dogs, owners might consider alternative first aid solutions that are specifically designed for smaller pets.
