Haley Strategic – FlatPack Expandable Assault Pack

The FlatPack from Haley Strategic Partners is a purpose-built assaulter pack with over eight years of direct-action use by U.S. and NATO Special Operations Forces. Designed for maximum adaptability, the FlatPack features a distinctive zippered expansion system that allows it to run nearly flat when compressed and expand up to 150% additional storage capacity when fully deployed.

At the core of the FlatPack is a full peel-open main compartment that provides rapid access and immediate visual identification of mission-essential gear. The interior features VELCRO® Brand loop panels on both front and rear surfaces, allowing secure integration of FlatPack Organization Accessories such as clear-top bags, mag wedges, holster wedges, radio caddies, and other hook-backed organizers (sold separately).

The main compartment also includes a dedicated hydration and armor sleeve capable of carrying 1-liter hydration bladders or FlatPack Level IIIA armor inserts. Integrated comms and hydration ports support routed hoses and cables, while grommets at the bottom of the pack provide drainage in wet or humid environments.

Additional storage is provided by a second full-depth zippered compartment and a lower admin compartment for smaller essential items. A front VELCRO® Brand loop field allows attachment of ID, signal patches, or expanded storage via the General Purpose Panel (sold separately).

Designed for modular integration, the back of the FlatPack features MOLLE/PALS webbing for direct attachment to plate carriers, sustainment packs, or piggyback systems. The FlatPack can also be directly integrated with all Haley Strategic Chest Rigs and Placards by removing the shoulder straps and replacing the chest rig harness with the included FlatPack Side Straps.

Although engineered for special operations use, the FlatPack also excels as a civilian everyday pack and is capable of carrying laptops or tablets up to 12 inches.

Choosing Between the FlatPack and FlatPack Plus: The Haley Strategic FlatPack and FlatPack Plus share the same low-profile, plate carrier–integrated design, but differ primarily in capacity and scalability. The standard FlatPack is optimized for minimalist, mission-essential carry and short-duration use, maintaining an ultra-slim profile ideal for lightweight chest rig or plate carrier setups. The FlatPack Plus builds on this foundation with a larger base capacity and an expandable main compartment (up to approximately 18.3 liters), making it better suited for heavier or evolving loadouts, hydration or armor inserts, and extended use. While both packs integrate seamlessly with Haley Strategic chest rigs and placards, the FlatPack Plus offers greater versatility for sustainment gear, preparedness kits, and civilian everyday use—including the ability to carry laptops or tablets up to 14 inches.
