Description

The Vudu 5-25X50 is ideal for short platform rifles. At approximately 11.2 inches in length, the 5-25X is one of the shortest first focal plane rifle scopes on the market. The elevation turret includes a push/pull locking system and EOTECHÕs EZ Chek Zero Stop. One unique advantage of the short design is that it provides the ability to attach either a clip-on night vision or thermal device in front of the scope.

Vudu MD3 Reticle

The MD3 is a first focal plane MRAD-based hashmark reticle that provides ranging, holdover and wind compensation in a very clean sight picture. The stadia lines are pulled back from the illuminated center aiming dot for improved long-range accuracy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Vudu 5-25x50 FFP scope suitable for short platform rifles?

The MD3 MRAD reticle is a first focal plane reticle that provides precise ranging, holdover, and wind compensation. Its design features hashmarks that maintain accuracy at all magnification levels, which is essential for long-range shooting. The reticle's stadia lines are positioned away from the center aiming dot, offering a clear sight picture that aids in precise targeting. This clarity and precision are particularly beneficial in long-range scenarios where minute adjustments can significantly impact accuracy.

How does the MD3 MRAD reticle enhance long-range shooting accuracy?

The MD3 MRAD reticle is a first focal plane reticle that provides precise ranging, holdover, and wind compensation. Its design features hashmarks that maintain accuracy at all magnification levels, which is essential for long-range shooting. The reticle's stadia lines are positioned away from the center aiming dot, offering a clear sight picture that aids in precise targeting. This clarity and precision are particularly beneficial in long-range scenarios where minute adjustments can significantly impact accuracy.

What is the purpose of the EZ Chek Zero Stop feature on the Vudu scope?

The EZ Chek Zero Stop feature is designed to simplify the process of returning to your zero setting after making elevation adjustments. This is particularly useful in dynamic shooting environments where rapid changes in elevation settings are required. By allowing shooters to quickly and confidently return to their original zero, the EZ Chek Zero Stop enhances shooting efficiency and accuracy, reducing the risk of over or under adjustments.

How does the Vudu 5-25x50 scope perform in harsh environmental conditions?

The Vudu 5-25x50 scope is built to withstand harsh environmental conditions, thanks to its aircraft-grade aluminum construction and anodized finish. It is water-resistant, fog-resistant, and shock-resistant, ensuring reliable performance in wet, foggy, or rugged terrains. The nitrogen gas purging prevents internal fogging, while the single-piece tube and o-ring seals prevent moisture and dust from entering the scope, maintaining clarity and durability in challenging environments.

Can the Vudu 5-25x50 scope be used with night vision or thermal devices?

Yes, the Vudu 5-25x50 scope's compact design allows for the attachment of clip-on night vision or thermal devices in front of the scope. This feature enhances the scope's versatility, enabling it to be used effectively in low-light or night conditions. However, users should ensure compatibility between the scope and the chosen night vision or thermal device to maximize performance and maintain a clear sight picture.

What are the trade-offs of using a first focal plane reticle like the MD3?

First focal plane (FFP) reticles, such as the MD3, offer the advantage of maintaining consistent subtensions at all magnification levels, which is crucial for accurate range estimation and holdover calculations. However, a trade-off is that the reticle can appear smaller at lower magnifications, potentially making it more challenging to see in certain lighting conditions. Users must balance the need for precision at high magnifications with the potential difficulty of reticle visibility at lower settings.

How does the push/pull locking system on the elevation turret benefit shooters?

The push/pull locking system on the elevation turret prevents accidental adjustments during use. This feature is particularly beneficial in dynamic shooting situations where the scope may be subjected to movement or handling. By locking the turret in place, shooters can maintain their settings with confidence, ensuring that their zero remains intact until intentionally adjusted.

What role does the anti-reflective coating play in the Vudu scope's performance?

The anti-reflective coating on the Vudu scope's lenses enhances light transmission and reduces glare. This results in a clearer, brighter sight picture, which is essential for identifying targets and making precise shots in various lighting conditions. The coating also helps to minimize reflections that could reveal the shooter's position, making it a valuable feature for tactical and hunting applications.

How does the Vudu scope support long-term durability and reliability?

The Vudu scope is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum with a single-piece design, providing exceptional durability and reliability. This robust construction resists damage from recoil and rough handling, ensuring the scope can withstand the rigors of field use. Additionally, the anodized finish protects against corrosion and wear, further extending the scope's lifespan and maintaining its performance over time.

What precautions should be taken regarding the Vudu scope's export restrictions?

The Vudu scope is subject to export restrictions under the U.S. Department of Commerce regulations. Potential buyers should be aware that exporting this product without proper authorization is prohibited, and compliance with these regulations is mandatory. It's crucial to consult the relevant legal guidelines or seek professional advice if considering international transactions to avoid legal issues.
